Sadie turns 2

Monday was Sadie's birthday! It sounds silly to some people to know your dogs birthday and I am sure it will sound even crazier to those same people when they find out that we did a little celebrating with her! =) But the reality is she is a big part of our family. She adds so much to our lives and is a great companion (especially when I am home alone!). We are excited to give SaderBear a playmate in October and we hope they grow to be the best of friends.

We spent Memorial Day weekend in San Diego with my family. On our way home on Monday we stopped at the pet store to get Sadie some birthday toys and treats.

This picture shows Chris and Sadie picking out a new toy!

At the pet store Sadie got a toy, some bones, and a new pool to stay cool during the summer heat. When we got home we decided to take a silly picture of her and her goodies. So I made Sadie a birthday party hat for her photo shoot.

Here she is in all of her glory!

Here is another shot, just so you can get a better appreciation for my homemade birthday hat (if you are lucky I might make you one for your birthday) Just kidding...I wanted you to get a closer look at the birthday pup's sweet face.

***NOTE: I told you our new camera would allow us to be better about keeping you updated on the randomness of our lives!***

Sadie and I have the same birthday!

When I was growing up we had a birthday party for our dog and invited all the neighbor dogs and their owners! I think we had about ten dogs. Now you're thinking you're not so bad! It was a great reason to have a party.

Oh, and my cats not only have birthdays, but middle names too! :)

The hat picture looks like it could be a poster or on a calendar.
