One of the last chapters we read was about experiencing God's peace. God has offered us peace like a river. "Few bodies of water are more exciting than rivers! We can have active exciting lives without suffering through a life of turmoil. To have peace like a river is to have security and tranquility while meeting many bumps and unexpected turns on life's journey. Peace is submission to a trustworthy Authority, not resignation from activity" (p. 45).
To get a better grasp of peace like a river (and in celebration of summer and our new found free time) we decided to take a day trip to Forest Falls.

I don't think this is technically a river however it is a collection of waterfalls and fast flowing streams at least. We hiked up through the falls, sat and enjoyed the scenery, spent some time in prayer and had a picnic. It was a great day. The falls were fun and exciting but scary and intimidating at times too. The whole day, despite some bumps and bruises, was so peaceful.
"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Phil 4:7
Here are some photos of our journey along the way.
