40 days until Christmas...

It is officially Christmas in the Hofschroer house. Our tree and decorations went up last night. My family had driven up for the evening from San Diego so that my niece and nephew could meet Logan. Some friends were in the area for a birthday party and stopped by afterwards to say hi also so the night turned in to an impromptu Christmas party complete with Christmas music and apple cider! As you can see Logan was totally into it! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

On another note: Thank you to everyone who has kept us in their prayers over the last couple of weeks. Most of you read about Logan's birth in Chris' last post. Unfortunately the excitement didn't stop there. I went to Urgent Care on Thursday night because of some serious headaches I had been having since Sunday. They did blood work and found that my hemoglobin level was down to 7 (it should be 12). They decided that I needed to be admitted to the hospital and that a blood transfusion was necessary. It was a very rough night for me. Logan was only 6 days old and not only did I have to be away from him for the night but I had to stay in the hospital by myself. I received 3 units of blood throughout the night. When they discharged me the next evening my hemoglobin level had increased to 9.9... yay! Obviously that is not a 12 though so I still have a long road of healing ahead of me (aside from the obvious "I just had a baby" healing that needs to take place). I have to take iron supplements 2 times a day and try to eat an iron rich diet. My body will slowly but surely regenerate the rest of the blood on its own... until then I am considered anemic. My headache is back (but not as bad this time) but overall there is a drastic improvement in my ability to concentrate and my energy level. We ask that you would keep us in your prayers as we continue to recover from the last week and a half.
