Shawn Johnson

Like many of you, I thoroughly enjoy watching the Olympics. I have our DVR set to record all of the events so that I don't miss anything. Some of the events I watch in fast forward so I can watch the score progress and stop if anything looks particularly interesting. But other events I watch every second of and sometimes rewatch those segments when I am done. My FAVORITE is gymnastics... not the men, but women. I am so intrigued by these young ladies. They are so young yet their dedication, determination, and focus are unlike anything I have seen.
It has been quite a journey for Team USA... with medals of all colors being added to their collection. Some of the events the gymnasts performed perfectly and received the appropriate medal, others they performed perfectly but were robbed (in my opinion) of the appropriate medal, and still others they made errors but still earned a silver or bronze. It has been a roller coaster for the fans, I can only imagine what it has been like for these young ladies! The interviews with each of these ladies has been full of grace and appreciation regardless of the medal they received and the drama that went with it.
Well all this to say... a frequent question over the last couple of weeks from about a dozen people has been, "Have you noticed that Shawn Johnson looks like you?". The first time I just laughed and said "No not really but I think she is a beautful, talented and kind young lady. So thanks." Since then I have been asked a couple more times. And then quite a few more times and now my answer is "Yes, I have heard that. Thank you!" At first I thought people were crazy but with the number of people who have been saying something I feel like there has to be some real resemblance there.

One more thing... I definitely prefer when people say that Shawn looks like me rather than I look like her. For one, I am older. And two... you all actually know me!! Shawn is just on TV!
