So a couple of weeks ago Amy and I got the chance to head up to Portland to work with the Special Olympics. This was our second summer games and it was an absolute blast. We stayed with our good friends, Tyler and Debbie Cox while we were up there. Tyler is actually the Director of Sport for Special Olympics Oregon and does an awesome job putting together these events for these amazing athletes. Tyler definitely doesn't do it alone however.
Tyler works with a great group of people who work hard and play even harder. One of Amy and I's favorite staff members at SOOR is actually Tyler's boss, Mark. He's a super cool guy with an incredible work ethic. On our last day we were able to stop by his house and hang out with him, his wife Kimber, their two year old Claire and their newborn Lucy (sorry no pictures of this).
Anyway, while we were up there we worked a ton, but we did have a few extra days to do some site seeing and visit "the mecca". I love Tyler for a number of different reasons. He's one of the funniest guys I know, loves March Madness, he's a great husband, a decent tennis player, a great friend, and he is my Nike Employee Store pass pimp. . This place is AWESOME. It is super exclusive and house some of the best deals I have ever seen. We did some serious damage there this year.
One of the days we were up there Tyler and Debbie both had to work so we headed up to Multnomah Falls and saw some sights. The falls were beautiful!
On the way back to Portland we stopped by Riegelmann's Appliances to see Mike and Holly and their kids, Levi and Mckayla. We went out to a really nice lunch (thanks Mike!) and got to just catch up a little. It was really nice to see them.

The last day we were up there we decided to take Tyler and Debbie up to Seattle for the night and see a Mariners game. We had a great time and sat in some of the best seats I have ever sat in. In the 8th inning, the people sitting in the front row of our section left so we decided to move up to their seats. During the next at bat a foul ball was hit to our section and landed right where Debbie and Amy were sitting! What are the odds! We were so disappointed! Overall, it was very memorable night and we all had a great time.
To sum it all up... we love Portland. We love SOOR and all they're doing for those amazing athletes up there. And we love and appreciate our good friends Tyler and Debbie. They really did make the trip for us.
