Romantic Getaway

When Chris and I were setting our wedding date there seemed to be a lot of conflicts. The best choice seemed to be July 10th. Initially neither one of us were thrilled about the date because it is right next to both of our birthdays (Chris- 13th & Amy- 16th). But after thinking about it more the 10th seemed like the perfect date for us. We thought if our birthdays and anniversary were all in one week we would be more likely to actually take the time to celebrate each other and US even when life got more complicated.
Well life has definitely gotten more complicated! The addition of little Logan into our lives has added to that. And while we adore Logan, it is more challenging to take the time we need to invest in one another and our relationship. That being said... WE DID IT!! We stayed in Downtown San Diego for two nights with out the little guy. We picked San Diego because we didn't have to waste any of our time together dropping off Logan (he stayed at my parents house). I of course grew up in San Diego but that is so not the same as vacationing there. =) And Chris has never stayed anywhere except for at my parents house. So it was the perfect location for us.
We stayed at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. We could walk right out to Seaport Village. Had a great view of the bay and the Coronado Bridge. We were only a couple of blocks from the Gaslamp District too which was a lot of fun!

Here are some pics from our trip.
On our way... and feeling quite giddy if you couldn't tell!!

MooTime Ice Cream on Coronado Island.

Horton Plaza- Isn't this the coolest chair?!?!

Gaslamp District- The Heart of San Diego.

Seaport Village- i HEART him...

It is nice to talk about keeping your marriage a priority but it feels AMAZING to actually do it! If you haven't had any alone time with your child's "other parent" (also known as your husband/wife) lately... its time. You don't have to go away or spend a lot of money... just make time for one another. (side note: our trip surprisingly didn't cost loads of money!)
