a LONG update...

I am sorry that it has been so long since my last post. Things are always busy during the holidays of course. But on top of that all three of us have been sick and I went back to work this last week.

Going back to work was much easier than I thought it would be. I prepared myself mentally that it would be very difficult to leave Logan and hard to adjust back to the demands of being a teacher. Surprisingly I didn't even have an emotional break down (I hope that doesn't make me sound heartless to some of you). I was so busy at work that there was no time for me to just sit and realize how much I missed Logan. I am sure the tears will come at some point. It helped that my students were so excited to see me which was way cute. For those of you who don't know I run a pretty tight ship in my classroom. I like to have efficient procedures and desire for my students to be responsible individuals. Students don't always enjoy the way I run my classroom at first but I think they learn rather quickly to appreciate it. I thought it would be a rough transition back after there being a substitute for the last 2 months... even the best of subs would be more lenient than I would like. Most of my students though seemed thrilled that I was back and were relieved to have that consistency and structure back. One student even said "I woke up this morning wishing vacation wasn't over yet and then I thought I hope Mrs. Hofschroer is back today. And you are!?!?" He had a HUGE grin. So sweet!

It also helps that I know Logan is in good hands. Whitney McWhorter comes to our house each day to watch him. She graduated from CBU a couple of years ago and was a nanny for a family of three girls. So not only is she a good friend but she has experience. She has been such a blessing already in the first week.

Logan is growing and changing each day. He is now 2 months old and weighs in at 11 pounds. He is very tall and has long fingers. He has the sweetest smile and even lets out a laugh from time to time. He loves to have conversations with us and sometimes I am really curious what he is actually saying. His voice is so little and rhaspy.... I love it. His eyes have lightened up some to be a lighter blue color but I still wonder if they will change. He still loves to be swaddled in a blanket, especially to sleep. He sleeps very well at night waking up usually only once to eat and goes right back down. He is such a sweet little guy and we are loving every moment with him.

So that is a brief update on our lives... and now here are some pictures!
